Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 We miss the Oregon Trail. But there is more climbing on tap today - we’re about to roll out for Stage 7. An 87 mile route through two mountain passes, including Teton Pass. Can’t wait to roll into Jackson this afternoon. Should be a fun spot to celebrate the end of the first week of LIOTR!
Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 Knee troubles That little bandaid on Drew’s knee is kind of a big deal. He’s had surgery there twice in the past & after our epic Stage 3 he woke up with it swollen and extremely painful. Luckily we were in Boise where his brother is a doctor. He was able to get a Cortisol shot and we’ve since ridden another 250 miles with no issues. Phew!
Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 23, 2013 Fight cancer with coffee! Stanley’s dad is riding his bike across the US & he would really appreciate it if you helped fight cancer by ordering some @grimpeurbros LIOTR single origin roast to order coffee. The proceeds go to the Colon Cancer Alliance! More info at grimpeurbros.com, order deadline for this week’s roast is 3pm today. (at LIOTR Service Course)
Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 LIOTR Stage 6 154 miles in 7h 39m. Not too shabby, thanks for the tailwind, Idaho.
Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 LIOTR Stage 6 With over 35,000 feet of climbing in the first five stages, it is great to have a flat 155 miler with a good strong tailwind. (at Idaho)
Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 LIOTR Stage 6 We’re getting a bit of a late start for a 154 mile day, but our mobile coffee kit and @grimpeurbros LIOTR single origin will get us going. (at Fairfield, ID)
Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Wish we brought cross bikes tooStage 5. A series of increasingly poor decisions worked out in our favor and led to one of the best roads we’ve ever ridden. (at Oregon Trail, Boise ID)
Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 22, 2013 One more from Stage 5.Still can’t get over everything we saw. Insane. (at Oregon Trail)
Michael Tabtabai June 21, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 21, 2013 Oregon Trail Riding More from Stage 5. These climbs were amazing. 40ish miles of this and then another 50 of rolling hills into Fairfield, ID.
Michael Tabtabai June 21, 2013 Michael Tabtabai June 21, 2013 Stage 5 is rad. 40 miles of gravel on the actual Oregon Trail. Andrew bagged a bear and took home 643 lbs of meat.
