Flashback to the Badlands
One of our favorite roads so far, back from Stage 11. A twisty switchback that climbs out of the Badlands and through these rock formations. Insanely awesome. (at Badlands National Park)
LIOTR Stage 14
Another stage down, and we have reached the 2 week milestone! 140 miles today to Austin, MN. All of it with a ferocious headwind. There were some good times, some bonking, some vomiting and the suitcase of courage was taken out and opened yet again. We are glad to put this one behind us and go get some pizza. Only ten days left to go!

LIOTR Stage 14
When we see these wind turbines it’s either really good news or really bad news. For the last 200 miles or so it has been the latter - a pretty consistently difficult headwind. At least our days have been a little shorter in terms of miles if not hours. (at Near Jackson, MN)
The Plains
Sometimes when things get monotonous it helps to break the day down into chunks. So today we’re not doing one 128 mile ride with a 20mph headwind, we’re doing four 32 mile rides, each with a 5mph headwind.

Racing the sun. Losing. Not caring. We rode 185 miles through South Dakota today.
Riding the Badlands
One last shot of us riding through Badlands National Park. Tomorrow we’ve got a 185 mile ride on tap, ending in Mitchell, SD. When we’re done we’ll be officially halfway through the ride. Crazy.
